my dad has passed and his girlfreind will not speak to me so I do not know of any leagal papers or wills ...how do I get that info ?

You open a probate and file for letters of administration. Then you use the power of the court to find and gain control over your father's assets. You do this with the assistance of an attorney, if you have any sense at all. The attorney will be paid from the estate based upon the size of the estate.

As your father's child, you can begin a probate. You should also seek counsel to see if he/she can commence a dialog with your father's girlfriend.
