Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Wills and Trusts
My mother died on May 22,2009. She left me money, and also left a trust fund to my daughters. The trustees are two of my cousins.
I do not trust my aunt or them and they say I do not need a copy of the will or the trust.
What are my rights? My daughters are 3 months and 19 months.

As you children's legal guardian, you should formally request a copy of the terms of the trust and an accounting of the trust (if they are willing to show you the books, you might waive formal accounting to save money.)

You have a right to the documents if you are a beneficiary. Contact me directly.
Re: Wills and Trusts
Sounds to me like it's time to get an attorney involved. With an attorney handling things for you, you take yourself and past difficulties with your cousins out of the equation as the attorney handles all communications and dealings with them.
It becomes a matter of simple obligations and requirements. Your attorney formally requests copies of will and trust and related documentation. If they refuse attorney request, then can file motion to compel the trustees to produce it.
