Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Wills, Trusts
My parents are using legalzoom to draw up a simple trust and will, in which I am the executor of their estates, an alternate trustee as well as the sole beneficiary under the trust - will the bequest to me be valid if I am also the executor and trusee?

Please have an attorney review the documents or draft estate planning documents that will be upheld in court. Contact me directly.

Do yourself a huge favor and persuade your parents to toss the Legalzoom stuff and consult a lawyer in person.

I'm sure all of the experienced lawyers on this forum will tell you not to be "penny wise and pound foolish" by using LegalZoom. I can't even begin to tell you how many areas there are where unguided use of a software program for estate planning can go wrong.
But to answer your question, under California law you can be trustee, executor, and beneficiary.
