Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Wills

I want to write a legal will. I don't know what kind is best. Currently, I don't own a home or any real estate. I don't want the people I put in it to have to pay a lot of taxes or attorney fees to get what is willed to them. Can I write a will, legally, on a form and just have it notorized or something like that? Are there forms that I have to use or can I write it all out on a paper?

You can write a will entirely in your own had writing and it doesn't have to be witnessed. It must be dated and signed and no part may be printed or typed. You can also go to a stationary store that has Wolcott forms, and purchase the Legislative Will forms. What I call 'x' the box Wills approved by the California Legislature, and fill them out. However, your signature must be witnessed. There are other ways to pass on your eatate depending on it's size.
