my mother died recently leaving a hand written list wittnessed by the whole family. the purpose of this list was to avoid my sister-in-law from trying to fight for the family heirlooms. my bro is executor of the will and let his wife distribute everything. i live in texas and can't deal with this in person. i requested a copy of the list and she says its not available or can't find it. is ther legal ramifications to her ''losing the list''?

The list has no legal force or effect unless it was incorporated by reference into a valid will formally witnessed by at least two disinterested witnesses who sign an attestation that your mother was competent and declared the document to be her last will and testament.
