Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

first 3 day pay?

I have sprained my ankle here at work and I was told that the pay for the first three days that I missed work will come from my PTO. Is this correct? Shouldn't the company pay me for the days I missed since I was injured here at work?

The carrier will begin payment of temporary disability only after you have missed three days of work. However, in order to get paid TTD you will need to have a doctors first report, or follow up report, saying that you cannot work, or can only work modified work. If your employer has modified work, then you are not entitled to TTD.
