Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

I have been asked by my boss (co. pres.) to start working 40 hrs. a week, but only be paid for 32 hrs. I have been at this co. for 23 yrs. and my title is VP of Ops. I supervise about 40 employees. I am also salaried, paid weekly. I was put on a 32 hr. work week in Jan. '09 and have been that way since then. Can my boss legally do this ?

What he wants is for you to be paid $0 for 8 horus of work, which violated the minimum wage standards. That is illegal. The problem is that there is no one above him that you can complain to. You have to figure out some way to say no without getting him mad. Perhaps you can blame your wife who asked why you will be working more and now much of a salary incraese did they give you.
