Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

My attorney has not been fighting for me

I was injured in 2000 and had surgery in 2001. My treating doctor told me that even with the surgery, I would not be able to work more than 2 years without getting worse. In the meantime, I got worse and saw an attorney. He sent me to a neurologist who eventually took me off work. During that time, I saw an AME who agreed that I could not do the work I had been doing. My attorney has never called me and takes 3 or 4 calls from me to get a return call. They do things without consulting me. I called after the AME visit to see if I should go back to work until settled. I was told that I should stay out of work since the AME said I couldn't do it. No one told me that since I was P&S I could no longer get disability. Now they're telling me that I owe state disability 6 months back pay. Some videos were made that showed me doing things, but nothing I wasn't supposed to do. They have never fought for me in any way. When I went for an MSC with the judge, my attorney brought me a settlement paper and said they had worked it out and I had 20 minutes to decide whether I wanted it. My attorney wants me to settle and get it over with as I'm a small case (money-wise). Can I do anything about disability, or file a complaint against my attorney?
