Do I need an attorney?

I was wondering if I would benefit from an attorney if I got one now or should I wait till later?I am in pain since october `06 from on the job injury to my lower back.I was with a dr. for one month and he said go back to work.i disagreed and got a QME dr. to look me over and he said I was in need of an mri so i got that i was on workmmans comp.and case is active yet no payments are being made to me since jan.`07 I have been without a dr. since then. the QME report didnt state any ama ratings or disability status. It just said on a platueu at this time. he also stated that that 50 % of my capacity to do th8is type of work is diminished. now i`m waiting with no monies and i have a hard time with getting a new dr. a.s.a.p. i waited 30 days for QME report now I`m waiting 60 days for status after he reads the mri findings which show i have degentive disc disease,no significant spinal stenosis or foraminal narrowing.annular tear, mild diffuse annular bulge with mild facet arthrosis, tiny central protrusion with T2 signal compatible with annular tearand bone marrow signal shows a vertebral body hemangioma in L2 etc ...Anyway I am in pain and need to know if I should wait for QME DR. or get a lawyer so i can get some temp disability etc?

Re: Do I need an attorney?

You certainly need an attorney. A doctor has to put you on TTD or State Disability while you are getting treatment for your work-related injury. The reason that you have not received any Temporary disability benefits could be due to a number of reasons. Call us at 213.388.7070 for a free consultation about your case.
