Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
Our building has several stores inside of it. One of the exterior doors has been broken for multiple weeks and has not been fixed by the building operator. The door says "this door must remain unlocked during business hours." But because it is broken and has not been repaired, it is locked and creating a safety hazard of exiting the building in case of emergency. Any legal action to be taken here?

Phone up the local building code enforcement division and have them investigate and speak to the owner to get it fixed immediately. You could sue to abate a hazzarous condition but that would take a long time for any court decision.
