Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
in california if awared wk and unable to return to current job can you work somewhere else? if so how are wk payments affected?

Of course you can work some where else. The purpose of the system is to speed up returns to work. If you are working, however, you are not entitled to collect temporary disabiity benefits. The claims adjuster wil also assume that your linjury was not that bad because you could return to some type of work. You want to be able to send the adjuster a detailed description of your new job duties, find out if they pay anything for a reduction in overall wages, explain you want to work but can not do your former duties so found another job. If you are still interested in going back to your old job when you feel better, talk to your supervisor to see what can be done [but get anything positive they offer in writing from someone high up in the company].
Good luck.
