Re: Changing doctors appointments
The employer may have the right to control medical treatment for 30 days following the injury. There of course are exceptions to this rule. Generally after 30 days from the date of injury, the injured employee is allowed to choose their own doctor.
Re: Changing doctors appointments
The control of your medical care by the employer or its insurance company is the means by which the defense obtains the most favorable outcome in your claim. It is essential for your case, not only to get an objective medical opinion, but because the system is extremely adversial, to get a medical opinion from a doctor which is "applicant oriented." You would be well served by getting representation (attorney fees are regulated by law at 9% to 12% of the final settlement or award). Please contact me directly at (619) 222-3504.
