Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

My claim

Hello, I have had a workers comp claim for nearly a year now. I have been diagnosed with bi-lateral carpal tunnel syndrome / Paresthesia. I have not felt like i needed a lawyer until recently. I had a QME report, the doctor stated that i was disabled and that my job caused it. However he also stated that i can go back to work and have 0% whole body impairment. I am scheduled to go back soon. I obviously dont agree with the second opinion and feel that there has been no change in my disability.

My question is; at this point is it too late to get a lawyer or try to settle my claim on my own?

Re: My claim

There are a number of issues you can challenge a QME report. for example, did QME cover all your body parts? (wrist and hand are considered different body parts). But fighting a 0% rating case is very difficult. Feel free to call us at 213.388.7070 for a free consultation.

Go to the WCAB website and review the en banc decisions in Almaraz/Guzman. These cases deal specifically with findings like yours under the AMA rating system and proppose several options for challenging the rating.
