Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
Compensation?
I opened a work case with a lawyer
last September 2008. I had an
accident while working for a cable
company and fell off the roof of a 2-
story building. Ive been in disability
but i did not qualify for the ''Benefits
of Disability''. Its almost been a year
that i have not been working, and
right now i am depending on my
family financially because I have no
money. I even put my education on
hold and stopped going to College.
Friends have told me that there has
to be some type of Compensation
for me but I'm new to this and I'm
somewhat confused. I don't receive
calls from my lawyer,
letters...nothing. I also try
Communicating with him and get no
response. What Should I do?

Re: Compensation?
You should have been receiving Temporary Disability, and if not (depending), at least State Disability. Also, your attorney should have been sending you to a doctor. It sounds like you have many unexercised rights.
There are many aspects to my firm for which I pride. One aspect is that we return telephone calls. This seems to be the number one problem with other firms, but I know the importance of speaking with my clients. If you would like a free consultation, please call me at 1.877.505.INJURY.
Re: Compensation?
Perhaps it is time to change your attorney. You have a right to temporary disability benefits as a wage replacement while you are receiving treatment. You are also entitled to continue paid treatment for your injuries, settlement for your permanent disabilities, future medical care including future surgeries and vocational rehabilitation. We are an experienced worker's compensation firm and we have cases all over california. Feel free to call us at 213.388.7070 for a free consultation.
