When you injured your back at work, it could be a whole separate injury or a consequence of the previous eye injury. This is a very simple matter to handle and your attorney should be able to deal with it. Talk to your attorney and if he is not receptive, then it may be time to look for a new attorney.
You need to open a new claim and WCAB application for your orthopedic injuries and seek treatment with a worker's compensation doctor who would take cases on lien basis as well. Feel free to call me at 213-388-7070 for a free consultation.
Your attorney should file a new claim and WCAB application as the other attorneys before me have suggested.
