Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Dissatified with representation

If you are in mid stream of a Workman's Comp case can you and do you have the legal right to engage a different law firm or to start representing yourself in your case.

Yes, but the attorney will still be able to collect a reasonable fee. He will file a lien for attorney fees, which means other attorneys will be more reluctant to take the case because they will be paid less, and their pay is already determined by a set formula.

You can always represent yourself, but see above.
