Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Due to a below the knee amputation, CA workers comp have told me they will convert a vehicle for me. The problem is that my own vehicle is ready for retirement and not worth much at all. Workers comp does not front any funds and I think it will be quiet some time before it is settled. Is there anything I can do now to get money to purchase a used vehicle worth converting?

Since you already have had the operation, you probably have reached a level of maximum improvement so they should have been advancing you PD benefits from that date on. Often the carrier fails to do such advances. You need to see how much they owe you and push them to get those funds. You may need to see an applicants attorney to get an opinion from them as to what the amount should be; if you hire them for the case, their attorney fees will be a percentage of some of the benefits, but if your injuries are clear it may not be worthwhile to hire an attorney.
