Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

My employer did not want me to leave my job so he gave me a raise (with the except I get my real estate license) to continue working with the company. It has been four months and I due to my boyfriends' job, I will be moving. Could I get sued for giving notice?

can you get sued for getting a raise in wages not to leave then leaving four months later?? My smart-ass answer is that slavery was outlawed by the 13th amendment so you never have to stay with any one employer... the correct lawyer answer is that if there is no written agreement that you agree you stay 6 or 12 months in exchange for the raise, then he shouldn't sue because he can't win.

That said, any wack job can sue anybody for anything... but give notice all the same. You'll want to get a nice reference when you are separated from there.
