Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Employer obligations

Hi-

I have an ongoing w/c case in progress, which has reached the point where the carrier is about to decide whether or not to authorize surgery to address the injury. If I leave this employer before the surgery is done (if it's done), aren't they still on the hook for the cost?

Thank you for your time.

Re: Employer obligations

Yes, continued employment is not required. The employer you worked for when injured remains liable for WC benefits until you have collected all the WC benefits you are entitled to, even if you go to work for someone else.
