Can my employer terminate my workers comp claim while the claim is still being investigated by its insurance company?

So long as your termination is not connected to your injury, the answer would be yes. Suffering a work-related injury does not protect you from being terminated for a good faith personnel action. Without more facts, it would be impossible for me to determine whether or not your termination stems from a good faith personnel action or your work-related injury.
