Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Is my employer's insurance company entiltled to view my medical records?

My company's insurance company wants me to sign [Consent for the release of medical/insurance information] and [Consent for the release of psychiatric information and records] do I have to give them access legally and what are the repercussions if I don't sign. My employer told me my claim would be declined if I did not sign.

If you have a stress claim, then the insurance company is entitled to your pyschological history. Please be aware that stress claims are routinely denied anyway. However, just because an insurance company denies a claim, the matter is not closed. The worker's compensation appeals board judge determines the validity of a claim. The worker's compensation system is very adversial. The insurance companies will get away with anything they can. They will pay you the minimum on your claim unless you obtain representation to protect your interests. The worker's compensation insuance companies have attorneys, why don't you??
