Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

I fell at work and had pain in my back, hip and neck. I was taken by ambulance to the ER where they ran xrays on my back and a CAT scan on my neck(I had a previuos surgery on my neck and have a plate). The ER Dr said she felt it was a pinched nerve in my back and referred me to the Work Comp Dr's for followup. The Work Comp Dr spent 5 minutes with me and never even touched my back even though I told her I had alot of pain in my lower back with pain radiating into my hip. She recommended physical therapy for my neck an said it was OK to return to work. Can I ask for a second opinion from a different Dr?

I highly recommend that you change your treating physician. employers/insurance company doctors are biased toward the insurance company and very often send injured worker back to work immediately (because insurance company does not want to pay benefits) without proper care and without any testing such as MRI and nerve test. My best advice is to get out of MPN because you may end up with same type of doctor again. Feel free to call us at 213.388.7070 for a free consultation.
