Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Can I still file for workers comp?

My MD told me that a pain that has been constant for the last year, has now caused permanent lose of full motion and feeling in my middle finger due to repetitive and strenuous actions required of me at my last employment. He instructed me to contact them, however I was terminated by them under very shady circumstances. I was managing a retail store and was fired while on vacation under false accusations and was able to prove my innocents too the point of filing suit against them. Also its been 7 months since I've worked there, can I still be get workers comp?

you have one year from the date of injury to file a workers' compensation claim. You must give your employer notice within that time. Additionally, just because you file suit, does not in any way influence your workers' compensation claim. You can have a bad suit and still file, so don't confuse yourself. Seek an attorney who specializes in Labor Law, specifically wrongful termination.
