Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
please help me find answer, thanks
California;
since three years disables, workers comp; not stable now, therefore insurance will not settle now;
have no attorney yet; insurance and nurse case manager told me, I don't need one; had no major problems with insurance yet;
but got now a certified letter ''10 days time to select QME'' because Insurance disagree with findings of primary doctor and others seen; insurance tells me, that's the normal way, no worries at all;
my question, please:
a) should I get an attorney?
b) when is the latest date I will be able to get an attorney involved?
thank you very much for helping me out my possibilities, God Bless a service like yours

As an unrepresented applicant you can select your panel QME. This is a plus. However, the carrier will write a comprehensive letter and most likely you will not, or yours will be inferior.
It may be time to consider an attorney, or contact the information and assistance office, which is free.

It is still not too late to get an attorney. I recommend to select a AME rather a panel QME and you or your attorney need to negotiate to select a neutral doctor, Feel free to call us at 213.388.7070 for a free consultation.
