Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Fingers Amputated

Hi, my husband's four fingers were amputated while handling a machine, however the 4000 lb material fell on him. He was without any formal training and was on other equipment without a certificate. There were no safety precautions what so ever. He lost his finger tips as they were smashed. In addition, his job responsiblity was working as a clerical person, whoever the company laidoff two warehouse people and had him working for their position. He had been working at that position for two weeks and was told he would be there for a while.
