Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

I hired an employee who is now no longer working for me. He is filing a fraudulent worker's compensation claim against me. How can I defend myself against this claim? I don't have the money to hire an attorney. What resources, rights, or options do I have? Please advise, anyone.

If you had WC insurance coverage on him at the time he was working for you, report the claim to the WC insurance carrier and they will handle everything at no additional cost to you. if yo had no coverage, repost with a lot more detail.
