Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
My husband fell 20\' off a ladder 3 years ago and filed a workers comp claim. The case still has not settled. He has a permanent back injury and is receiving SSDI, however his attorney is now ill and we do not feel that my husbands case is getting any attention. There is a deposition for the QME in Oct or Nov and we are not even sure if the attorney can make it. My quesiton is, would it be a bad thing to consult another attorney, we just want this over with. This case has been messed up from the begining. First Comp never handled the case right from the onset. They are on thier second attorney. I really need some answers.\n\nThank you\nLori

Perhaps your husband will be better off retaining a new attorney. I recommend you contact your present attorney and make sure they will cover deposition of the QME and if not try to find another attorney in your area.
