Injured in Iraq

Hi,

I was wondering if you might be able to help me with a rather complicated situation?

I work as a defense contractor with General Dynamics Corp. While assisting the Marines in Iraq I was injured by a mortar shell and permanantly lost 75% of my hearing. The insurance company (AIG) used by Gen Dyn reports that my injury qualifies me for the equivilent of 2 weeks worth of my salary in terms of compensation since governmental rules apply.

The amount of compensation sounds quite low to me considering the injuries I sustained. Is it worth my time to persue this issue or am I wasting my time?

What do you mean by governmental rules apply regarding your compensation? In general you are entitled for temporary disability benefits for a period while you are treating for your injury until you are permanent and stationary. You are also entitled to a permanent disability benefits which is based on the work restrictions and ratings of your permanent disabilities.
