Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

injured on job

I was hurt 13 years ago on the job, I got workers comp. I was 18 yrs. old my attorney had me settle at $2000 for permanent stationary. My back continues to get worse. Could I reopen a case on the injury that still needs treatment? At 18 yrs. I had no idea what I was doing.

Labor Code section 5410 provides that claims cannot be amended or reopened after five years. However, if you are employed you may be able to file a new claim.
