Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Was injured on the job as a result of an assault by an inmate at work. I am a peace officer and the assault was due to administrative staff acting negligently. My lawyer is handling my work comp case and added an enhancement of Serious & Willful. Any idea of an estimate of how much my settlement could be after this is all said and done? My injury consists of nerve damage in my wrist, hand, knuckles, fingers, and forearm.

No attorney can make such an estimate without reading the medical reports describing what your precise physical limitations are. To suceed on an S&W claim much more than mere negligence must be shown. Speak to your attorney to get an estimate as to the case value. If your attorney is too busy to speak to you [the local police association normally has an attorney they refer al their members to in return for free legal work fo rthe PA], you can always switch attorneys.
