Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
I was injured at work and asked to come in and fill out paperwork, then send to clinic. Am I to get paid for time I filled out paperwork and was at clinic?
Time at clinic cut into my work time, and although working 6 hours I was denied a lunch by my general manager.

SADLY, NO.
The first 3 days of lost time from the work injury are NON COMPENSABLE.
I guess you could write a complaint at the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement -- the Labor Board -- about being denied a lunch period.
Next time: Advised the GEneral Manager you cannot afford to lose hours doing forms and visitng occupational clinics, but you'll be very happy to complete these forms and visit his clinic at the end of the shift.
ALSO: FOR ANY FUTURE CLINIC VISITS : clinic visits should only be before or after regular hours, so you don't lose time from work (switch clinics if you must)....
....and grab a burrito in the car on your way back to work with this general manager.
