injured at work finished light duty

the doctor just extended my light duty time for six more weeks, my job wants me to take a sick leave. can they do that. i still need to pay my bills. please help me.

If your employer can't find a light duty work any longer, your employer's worker's compensation carrier should put you back on temporary disability benefits. So your employer is wrong to pressure you to take sick leave. Another alternative is to let your doctor know that no light duty is available and ask him/her to take you off work and put you back on temporary disability.
