Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

injured at work

I was injured on the job and my employeer is sending me to a clinic for treatment. I am starting to doubt the opinion of the doctor. He says my injury is just a sprain and its ok now but it isnt getting any better. I think I need a second opinion since this doctor is working for the employeer not me. I have no insurance. Disability paid me for a week off of work and the employeer paid for an additional 1 weeks off. The doctor says I can return to work on light duty but work doesnt really have any. When I go to physical therapy they tell me its getting worse. What can I do?

Re: injured at work

The employer generally has medical control during the first 30 days. After that, you clearly have the choice of physician. You need to consult a Worker's Comp attorney promptly to determine the best course of action as it relates to your specific facts. Aside from the financial concerns, experience has shown me that people who do not get proper treatment for back injuries usually have problems far longer than they should! Please feel free to contact me by email should you desire an in depth, detailed private consultation to discuss your specific situation.
