Are the insurance company in penalty for not authorizing filling a prescription

The failure to authorize the filling of a reasonable prescription could entitle the injured worker to obtain a penalty against the insurance carrier, but I would have to know the exact facts before I could be more definite. In general, the insurance carrier is not involved in having the medication prepared, only in whether it is paid for.
