Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

On the job injury.

I was hired at Lowe's in Cal. and transferred to Fl. where I was injured. Am I entitled to Cal workers comp. rights?

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

I am not sure, but if you were to remain in Florida, probably its law would apply. You do not give us enough information as to your employment status. Since the actual decision to hire you is made where the upper management is, one could argue the law of that state applies. It is more logical that the law of the state where you were hurt applies.

If the transfer was temporary and you were loaned to another office and you were expecting to return to California to work, You have a good argument to file in California. Call us at 213.388.7070 if that is the case.
