by law when can I choose my own worker's comp lawyer?

My company is not allowing me to choose a doctor of my own, are they braking the Ca law?

You can choose a worker's compensation attorney at any time. The earlier would be better for you to guide you in the right direction. As far as changing doctor, I recommend you change your treating doctor if recommended by the insurance company because they are biased toward insurance company and will offer little treatment, no testing like MRI and will send you back back to work ASAP eventhough you need to be off work.
