Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Legal Representation

Hello,

Is it possible to have two attorneys working on a claim?

One working for the standard fee and another paid for at my own expense.

I was recently returned to work after surgery and got a pretty bad deal . Illegal to say the least.

Basically what I would like to do is pay cash for another attorney to assist my attoreny.

I want an attorney who does not practice in my area ,who is not friends with the Defense Attorney does not litigate claims at my local WCAB, Not afraid to litigate a solid claim and tear my employer to pieces.

I was returned to work of numerous wage and hour law violations. Less than 85% of pre injury earnings and hours.

I am not certain an AME visit was handled correctly . Proper reports submitted etc .

I am looking to completety pick my employer apart . I do have just cause.

Question is: Can an injured worked hire another atty at his own expense in addition to the attorney he already has.

This case is not about money its about principal and defeating a crooked employer

Any Thoughts ?

I know its expensive

Re: Legal Representation

It is illegal for an attorney to take hourly fees, or otherwise in a workers' compensation case. However, if it is a case dealing with employment law, that would be another matter.
