Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

i have life time coverage on a injury.i settled 2-times and kept my life time open.i hurt myself at home and now my lawer is saying that 5-years has passed and because i hurt myself at home that comp will not open my claim or cover my bills for my injury. what can i do?

The life time medical treatment award is only for treatment for the industrial injury. If yo suffered a brand new injury at home then the medicalaward does ot cover it. A Dr. might find that it is not a new injury but just a temporary aggravation of the old industrial injury or a natural continuation of the old injury, so that futher treatment is necessary. If you are an ex-safety member than the 5 years he/she is talking about is the legal presumptions you are given.
