how long does work comp have to pay benefits once a QME has found in favor of the injured employee?

technically the carrier should start paying right away, yet I have had cases where it takes months and months. if you are certain the QME is in your favor and the carrier refuses to pay your benefits timely, you should file for an expedited hearing. that usually prompts the carrier to start payment before the hearing or face penalties and fines.
