Losing Non Worker's Comp Medical Benefits

My father was injured on the job two months ago and has not been working for that time. Can he or my mother lose their medical benefits (non worker's comp)provided by his employer?

Yes. You might wish to contact the employer and ask if payments are being made for the insurance. Sometimes an injured employee can keep a medical plan if the employee pays for same. As long as the employee has not been terminated the employee is responsible for paying the employee share of the medical benefit. If the employee is not receiving wages, the issue of payment ripens.

Quite often employers fire those who have been off work for too long as a result of a comp injury. Thereafter, they lose their medical benefits. Unfortunately, without knowing much about your husband's employment contract, if any, it is difficult for me to give you a concise answer.
