Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Lung Collaspe

My husband was welding inside a garbage truck. He was overwhelmed by smoke, coughed throughout the night (feelnig a pop in his chests) Well he neglected to go to the DR and when he did he was hospitalized. His supervisor was right there when this happened. But now workers is trying to tell him there is no way he could of went 5 days w/out medical attn. (My hubby does not like to go to the Dr) I finally made him go. It's pending on a answer whether W/C is gonna cover this. Should we seek legal advice is they don't? All of his co-workers know's he did it at work, his supervisor who was there should of reported it to his boss but neglected to.
