I assume this was a Workers' Compensation case and the referral was to the Rating Bureau to determine the percentage of permanent disability you have [the loss of function of a body part]. I also assume that you are not represented by an attorney or you would be asking the attorney. I have no idea which WCAB office you appeared at; some have greater backlogs of cases than others, some judges work faster than others. The Rater will, probably within 2 weeks of getting te Jdges instructions, sending a rating slip to all parties, who can then object and cross-examine the rater [usually does not happen] and the judge can then issue an award which will be paid within 1-2 weeks, but in weekly installments, not a lump sum, unless you agree to a "compromise and release" with the comp. carrier in which you settle all or part of your case. The Board has a legal adviser who might be able to give you some better time frame, but you might want to go to an attorney with a lot of WC experience to see if you are getting as much as you should be.
