Re: Medical Release

Generally, medical releases are voluntary. However, in order to resolve your case and get an admissible medical report, the doctor must discuss apportionment. This means that if you injured your right arm at work, but they received medical records indicating a prior injury to your right arm, the doctor must decide whether or not your past injury is contributing to your work-related injury. To do this, they have to review prior medical reports, and to get the prior medical report, they want you to sign a release.

This is why injured workers retain counsel. If you are interested in a free consultation, please call my office at 1.877.505.INJURY.

Re: Medical Release

Your medical release is voluntary and the insurance company wants that information to use it against you by finding a way to defend their client who is your employer. Feel free to call us at 213.388.7070 for a free consultation.
