Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

payment of benefits

I live in the state of CA and i was injured on 5-11-04. I have recieved permanent disability advances of 22,695.00. I have recieved a rating of 30% total disability. my question is why do I have to pay that monie back out of my final setalment?

I do not fully understand your question. How much money is the 30% rating you got? If it is less than the amount they paid you, then obviously they are entitled to ask for the excess/ove payment back. They have no way of getting it back from you. If they stil owe you money, what you recived were "advances" whilch means they are allowed to take credit for those payments against wha they owe you.
