Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
payment with stipulations
I was awarded by the state for my work injury 5596.25. But in the letter that i have to sign the insurance company had put less temp disibility overpayment of 1554 and less permanent disability advance payment of 5030. My question is what does this mean.

Re: payment with stipulations
It means that you probably should have hired a lawyer. Other than that, a temporary disability overpayment is where at some point prior to your doctor releasing you from treatment, your employer overpaid your T.D. benefit and now they want to deduct it from your final settlement. They have a right to do this.
The "P.D." means permanent disability. After you were released from your doctor, you probably began receiving a lower sum of money for a while. This would be called, permanent disability which the employer has a right to deduct from your final settlement. More specifically, this is called, "permanent disability advances" meaning that they are advancing you money from your final settlement.
