The unpaid benefits that were due and owing at the date of death would go to the person's estate but any benefits that were not yet payable would disappear. So if the person was owed PD benefits until 1/1/2013 but dies 6/1/11, the estate would collect only benefits to 6/1/11. if the death is related to the industrial injury, then a new claim for death benefits by his dependents would be possible.
