you should seek representation with an attorney who has substantial experience in police injuries. There are a few in the SF Bay area. Police injuries are a specialized subset of comp law. In fact, the labor code contains specific codes just for police injuries. Barring any performance related issues, you should have a discrimination claim if you are being forced out because of your industrial injury.
You have a valid worker's compensation case and you may petition for penalty under Labor code 132(a). You may also may pursue a wrongful termination case against your employer. Feel free to call us at 213.388.7070 for a free consultation.
