I hurt my lower back in 2000 and then last week I hurt my thoracic spine they are asking me to do a QME should I get a lawyer? Do I still get disability for this injury?

I think you definitely need a lawyer to represent you effectively. Your case could get complicated due to prior injuries. However, you will need a medical opinion (report)that discuss the issue of apportionment of your injuries. If you have injury on the same part of your body as year 2000 (and you were compensated for your injury), it will take a doctor's opinion to allocate a percentage due to new injury.
