Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

I have a question regarding back injuries.

Hello, I have been a police officer for almost 11 years. Approximately 2 1/2 years ago I was in my personal vehicle driving home from a later than normal shift and I was struck by a drunk driver. I began to suffer lower pain and was treated for it. I returned to full duty since that time with no restrictions, and I recently began to experience new types of pain in my lower back. Would this be a case for workers compensation?
