Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
I recently injured my low back at work. One of my co-workers told the manger that I had been complaining of back pain prior to that day. Which isnt true. I also had a w/c back injury at the same job ten years ago. I will be interviewed due to the discrepancy of when my back pain started. I have worked at the same place for 14 years. Should I talk to a lawyer?

You should talk to a lawyer whether or not there are co-workers spreading lies about you, just to see which lawyer you would use in the event your claim is denied or treatment requests are denied.
Injured workers hiring certified specialists in Workers Comp receive 50% higher awards than those who do not, yet the lawyer only recovers 15% of the final award, so finally is always makes sense to get a lawyer.
The Workers Comp lawyers get paid at the conclusion of the claim from the final award; you don't actually write a check to a lawyer, the judge looks at what the lawyer accomplished and awards a portion of the final award of up to 15% (18% if you have the misfortune to choose a lawyer on the West Side of Los Angeles).
